If you search for topics, people or trends etc on the Instagram app, all the actions you perform are stored inside the app. if you don't want to retain your recent searches then you can clear search history from the app.

2. Tap on Profile icon present at the right-hand bottom of the screen
3. Tap the three parallel lines icon at the top of the page (right-hand side) 
4. Tap on "Settings" present at the bottom of the screen
5. Tap on "Privacy"

7. Under Recent Searches. Tap "Clear all"
8. You will see a Warning "Clear search History? You won't"be able to undo this. If you clear Your search history. you may still see accounts  you've searched for as suggested results"
