How to type a Fraction on a MAC

In this article, you will learn how to type a fraction on a MAC if you are using Pages on Macbook Air or Macbook Pro. You can use the insert equation option in MAC Pages to write the fractions. We will use the "over" or "frac" command to type fractions using MAC keyboard.

Following are the two methods 

Method 1 

1. Open Pages on MAC

2. Go to the "Insert" tab and click "Equation"

3. In the "Edit Equation" windows to type fraction 1/2, type: 1\over2

4. You will see the preview at the bottom of the windows 

5. Click "Insert" to get the fraction in Pages Document

Method 2 

1. Launch Pages and go to the "Insert" tab

2. Click "Equation" to open the "Edit Equation" window

3. To type fraction 1/2 type: \frac{1}{2}
